These are just a few of the words which have been used to describe the experience of visiting our friendly Market Harborough studio. The first choice for families and photo-phobes alike, I pride myself on putting some long-awaited fun into portrait work.

In fact, much of our repeat business stems from the fact that not only were clients thrilled with the resultant portraits, but that they enjoyed the overall experience. And that’s something I, Paul invariably aspire to with every session.

Since 2002, I’ve been working in what I consider to be the most rewarding area of photography – contemporary studio portraits. And yes, that can include the family pets as well, if you’re up for a challenge.

The modern-day family unit is constantly changing and growing, and with this, has arisen the demand for a photographic approach that produces non-stuffy, natural, family portraits, and where the personality of each subject effortlessly shines through.

From celebrating an engagement to becoming parents, or from marking a university graduation or a milestone wedding anniversary, there is always an occasion worth celebrating through film – even if it’s just a case of snatching a rare moment with your offspring before they disappear off to college.

If it matters to you, it’s photoworthy.

Whether you look upon pictures of your nearest and dearest as an important, permanent record for posterity, a priceless gift for friends and relatives, or even just a great excuse to get several generations of the family together in one place, once the moment’s been captured, it’s yours for keeps to treasure for ever.

From this side of the camera, it’s always a great privilege to work with people of different ages and backgrounds and to be responsible for capturing the fundamental essence of family life, whatever that may be.

But perhaps even more than that, it’s wonderful to be able to put even the most reluctant models at ease. It’s just a case of finding out what makes that person tick and what brings them alive. And not forgetting the ice-breaking role of my ever-capable assistant, Henry the Labrador, which seems to work quite well with younger clients too.

As well as producing some fantastic permanent mementoes for families across Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, I particularly pride myself on the fact that everyone has a great time in the making of these potted mini-histories. Just take a look at What My Clients Say for a few examples.
